Are no-prep veneers the same as minimally invasive veneers?
No-prep is one possible conservative approach. Minimally invasive care can also include selective preparation when needed. We explain the proposed amount of preparation and the reason for it before proceeding.
How is Exocad used to design my veneers?
We use Exocad to develop the proposed three-dimensional restoration design from your digital records. It helps us review tooth form and proportions and refine the plan before fabrication.
Can I try my smile before the final restorations?
For suitable cases, a trial smile lets you assess the proposed shape, length, and appearance. Your comments help guide refinements. Trial materials and the finished restorations may look or feel different.
Are 3D-printed veneers made of porcelain?
Not necessarily. “3D printed” describes a manufacturing method, not a material. Ceramic-filled printed resins are not the same as conventional porcelain. We identify the proposed material and explain its indications, care requirements, and alternatives as part of your treatment discussion.
Can everyone have no-prep veneers?
No. Tooth position, the space available for a restoration, your bite, gum health, and the changes you want all affect candidacy. Another approach may be recommended if adding material would not produce appropriate contours or function.
Does “no-prep” mean the treatment is reversible?
The name does not guarantee reversibility. Bonding, later removal, and any future replacement need to be considered. Ask Dr. Balaes to explain the implications for your teeth before choosing treatment.
